When the collection in this Cape Dutch house was started it was a passing interest of two men who had an eye for and enjoyed Cape Dutch furniture. At the time it was deeply unfashionable and little known about. They now hold one of the best and rarest collections of Cape Dutch furniture to be collected together in a private house. The original ‘T’ shape of the house was built from blocks cut from the walls of termite mounds (a traditional method of building) and has a Stinkwood front door.
